The book presents and analyzes successful examples of cross-cultural youth work. It is designed in two colors which express the differences between the cultures: the colors overlap and interact with each other and thereby communicate the cross-cultural content of the book.

“2 get here” refers to the process as well as goal of arriving in the immigration country and feeling at home far away from home. The book presents projects about the search for recognition, identity, orientation and a sense of belonging, all of which are part of the effort “2 get here,” to truly arrive somewhere.

On a graphic level, this process and the focus on the goal are represented by arrows which lead through the book. Truncated pictures and texts signal that the cited examples represent only a portion of a multitude of projects.

The photographic source material differed very much in terms of color and quality. Yet in the finished book, the confinement to two colors and the mosaic-like arrangement lend the images a completely new, vivid appeal.
